About this project
The objective of the PhD project is to develop cellular assays for drug discovery in Cystic Fibrosis (CF) using advanced organoid based models.
The PhD candidate will establish 2D- and 3D- primary airway cell cultures which will be transduced with genetically encoded fluorescent sensors to investigate perturbations in ionic and pH homeostasis characteristic of CF.
These reporter systems will be used to establish microscopy-based molecular screening assays and standardized operating procedures to identify compounds which restore the cellular phenotype using bioimaging analyses and data science approaches.
